The Government Council has approved aid for a total amount of 21,850,472 euros to promote the energy efficiency of companies in the industrial sector of the Region of Murcia.

The objective is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and final energy consumption by increasing energy efficiency through the improvement of technology in industrial equipment and processes and the implementation of energy management systems. It is estimated that these subsidies could benefit more than 200 companies in the Region and avoid the emission of 35,417 tons of carbon dioxide per year.

Both SMEs and large companies will be able to benefit from aid that covers up to 50 percent of their investments. Specifically, an amount of 17,480,378 euros is allocated to actions to improve technology in industrial equipment and processes, with small companies eligible for aid of half of their investment, medium-sized companies 40 percent, and 30%. the big ones.

The budget for investments in the implementation of energy management systems amounts to 4,370,094 euros and the intensity of the subsidy depending on the type of company is similar to that of the first measure.

This energy efficiency programme for industry is coordinated by the Institute for Energy Diversification and Savings (IDAE) and is co-financed with Feder funds.
