The unions, for their part, defend that workers must be protected from the escalation of the CPI to guarantee their purchasing power and avoid an increase in labor conflict.<\/p>\n
The President of the Government himself, Pedro S\u00e1nchez, has entered the debate and has asked economic agents to prevent the rise in the CPI from "ending up permeating the rest of the economy", guaranteeing that one of the factors of this increase in inflation, the cost of energy, will register a "significant reduction" in the middle of the year. The economic vice president, Nadia Calvi\u00f1o, has spoken along the same lines, warning that it is advisable to avoid wage increases that turn inflation into structural ones.
