The Public Health Commission has updated the Surveillance and Control Strategy against covid-19. As of March 28, confirmed mild and asymptomatic cases will not have to isolate. The performance of diagnostic tests is also modified, which will focus on people over 60 years of age, immunosuppressed people, pregnant women, healthcare workers and serious cases.<\/p>\n
The Public Health Commission gave the green light this Tuesday to the new strategy that will normalize covid starting next March 28, when the isolations of asymptomatic and mild people will be eliminated and general testing will stop.<\/p>\n
This has finally been decided by the general directors of Public Health of the Ministry of Health and the communities in a meeting in which they have established that from that date the diagnostic tests will focus on those over 60, immunosuppressed and pregnant women; from vulnerable areas\u2014health and social health\u2014; as well as serious cases, on which surveillance will focus from now on.<\/p>\n
In relation to the control of covid-19, confirmed mild and asymptomatic cases will not undergo isolation and close contacts will not undergo quarantine. In this sense, recommendations will be issued aimed at preventive measures such as the use of a mask in all areas and avoiding contact with vulnerable people.<\/p>\n
The new monitoring and control strategy will come into force next Monday as long as the indicators for the use of healthcare services are at a low risk level, sources from this body have informed EFE.<\/p>\n
In the same way, it will remain in force as long as there is no significant change in the trend that indicates uncontrolled circulation of SARS-CoV-2 or a change in the epidemiological situation that requires reestablishing some measures.<\/p>\n
