The Autonomous Community of Murcia has approved, at the proposal of the Department of Employment, Universities, Business and Environment, to allocate one million euros to companies to promote innovation through the digital transformation of the industry in the Region of Murcia.

The money is intended for small and medium-sized companies, whose activity corresponds to the manufacturing industry, and on a competitive basis, with the maximum amount of each aid being up to 50,000 euros.

This is the 'Connected Industry' initiative, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), and which the regional Government develops through the Development Institute within the policies for regional economic development and growth, as well as competitiveness, employment and its quality and the productivity of its business fabric.

These grants support the efforts made by the industries of the Region of Murcia to innovate, digitally transform and improve their competitive position, through investments that represent a qualitative leap in the organization and management of the industry's value chain, to thus configure new multi-enterprise industrial ecosystems, introduce the concept of the 'internet of things' or create intelligent products through the use of technologies that unite the physical and digital worlds.

These actions will mean achieving higher levels of excellence and specialization that will ultimately result in better service to the business fabric of the Region of Murcia.

The maximum intensity of the subsidy will be 50 percent of eligible expenses, such as material (machinery, equipment, hardware and electronic systems) and intangible investments, as well as the costs of consulting, engineering and equivalent project services.

Subsidy applications may be submitted for two months from the day after their publication in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia.
