The Mapfre Foundation is launching this initiative with 500 beneficiaries who will hire adults who have been registered as unemployed for at least 2 months.

The Mapfre Foundation is launching the 6th Call for Employment Aid, which will allow self-employed workers and SMEs to receive aid of up to 500 euros per month for hiring. According to the announcement made in a press release, in order to benefit from this measure, contracts can be of any type except for works and services. They will benefit unemployed adults who have been registered with the SEPE as unemployed for at least two months.

For this call, the foundation will grant subsidies to up to 500 companies; in no case will more than one grant be awarded per applicant. The final amount that will go to each SME depends on the conditions under which the contract is made: it can amount to 4,500 euros for 9 months if the contract is full-time (which means 500 euros per month). If it is part-time, it will amount to 2,700 euros, 300 euros per month.

The terms of the call for applications clarify two important aspects: only the aid corresponding to the time worked will be paid. In the event of termination of the contract before nine months of aid, it will be automatically cancelled. In the event of temporary leave, for whatever reason, the payment of the aid will be temporarily suspended provided that the employee returns to work in less than 2 months.

To qualify for these grants, companies must be up to date with their tax payment obligations. In addition, deadlines must be met: from the time the contract is signed, there is a period of 90 calendar days to submit the application through the organization's website. The application period will end when the 500 SMEs have benefited or, failing that, on July 16.

Prior registration is required, as well as providing official documentation on the contract and the fees paid to Social Security and the Treasury.

The Mapfre Foundation assures that this call for applications is part of the organization's social employment program, a project that encompasses various initiatives aimed at promoting hiring, "encouraging the training of people looking for work, helping young people focus on their professional future and improve social skills, as well as promoting the integration of groups at risk of social exclusion."

More than 2,000 beneficiaries so far

The first edition of the insurance company's Employment Aid took place in 2013. To date, a total of 2,376 people have obtained a job opportunity through this program.
