The Ministry expects that 44,500 taxpayers will benefit from regional deductions
The number of beneficiaries of regional deductions has multiplied by 2.5 in the last two Income campaigns, going from 18,220 filers with the right to deduction to almost 44,500, which has allowed a saving of 6.3 million euros compared to the 2.8 of the previous campaign, the Ministry of Finance reported yesterday.
The head of this department, Andrés Carrillo, indicated that there are eight regional deductions that citizens can apply in their 2017 income tax returns. «The number of beneficiaries of the regional deductions has grown significantly. Never before had this number of beneficiaries been reached nor had the amount deducted been so high," he said in reference to the 44,500 taxpayers who have taken advantage of these reliefs. Carrillo stressed that "the regional government is committed to reducing taxes as the best way to boost economic growth and job creation, and as the best way to benefit citizens."
The eight deductions are related to school supplies and textbooks; as well as daycare expenses, the purchase of a primary residence for young people, donations intended for the protection of the historical heritage of the Region, donation of cultural and sports activities and biosanitary research, investments in domestic water-saving devices, investments in resource facilities renewable energy, investments in shares of new or recently created entities.

Of these deductions, those that have benefited the greatest number of filers in the last Income campaign have been those for expenses in the acquisition of school supplies and textbooks (17,232), purchase of habitual residence for young people (11,030) and daycare expenses for children under 3 years of age (11,021).
Furthermore, the counselor recalled that in this year's Budget Law the amount of the deduction for school supplies is raised, from 100 to 120 euros, and the income limits are increased by 33% so that more people can apply the deduction. , so the increase will be even greater in next year's campaign.
The Ministry collaborates with the State Tax Administration Agency (AEAT) in the in-person Income 2017 campaign, which begins on May 10 and will last until July 2.
Autonomous deductions
1 For investment in habitual residence for young people aged 35 or under
5% of the amount paid during the year with a limit of 300 euros per year.
2 For school material expenses
100 euros for the acquisition of school supplies and textbooks. Meeting the following requirements:
* Not large family:
-In individual declaration, the tax base will not exceed 15,000 euros.
-In a joint declaration, the tax base will not exceed 30,000 euros.
* Large family:
– In individual declaration, the tax base will not exceed 25,000 euros.
– In a joint declaration, the tax base will not exceed 40,000 euros.
3 For daycare expenses for children under 3 years old
15% of the amounts paid for daycare and school expenses, with a maximum of 330 euros in individual taxation and 660 euros in joint taxation, for each child of that age.
4 By investment in renewable energy installations
The 10% of the investments made, with a limit of €1,000 per year.
5 By investing in domestic water saving devices
20% of the investments made, with a limit of €60.
6 By investment in the acquisition of shares and social participations of new or recently created entities.
The 20% of the amounts invested with a limit of 4,000 euros per year.
7 For investments made in entities listed on the alternative stock market
20 % of the amounts invested, with a limit of 10,000 euros, during the year in the acquisition of shares as a result of capital increase agreements signed through the expanding companies segment of the alternative stock market, approved by an agreement of the Council of Ministers of December 30, 2005.
8 By donations
For the protection of the cultural heritage of the Region of Murcia or the promotion of cultural and sports activities. *A 30% of the amount donated will be applied, without limit.
