There are general discounts, for women, for young people and special groups.

There are many existing incentives for self-employed people when it comes to starting a business that remain in force in 2018, including discounts on Social Security contributions, tax bonuses, etc., which often represent an incentive to look for self-employment. own.

These incentives often depend on the personal circumstances of the self-employed person, such as age or sex. This year there are four types of flat rates active: for women, the general rate, for special groups and for young people.

General flat rate

The best-known flat rate is the general one. Its duration is 24 months. During the first year, the self-employed worker benefits from an 80% bonus based on the contribution. That means that you will pay about 50 euros per month in social contributions. For the next six months, you will have a 50% bonus, so the fee to pay will be 137.97 euros per month. For the last six months, the bonus will be 30%, thus paying 192.79 euros per month.

As a novelty, this year it has been reduced  from five to two years the requirement of not having been registered as self-employed to be able to access this bonus ((three years for those who already enjoyed the reduction and want to benefit again).

According to forecasts, some 40,000 people from Murcia will benefit from this measure.

Flat rate for women

Women who have ceased their activity due to maternity and resume it will be entitled to new aid. The year after resuming their activity they will pay only 50 euros as a Social Security fee. If the self-employed person opts for a contribution base higher than the minimum, they will be eligible for an 80% bonus for one year.

Flat rate for young people

Men under 30 and women over 35 who register as self-employed also have bonuses added to the general flat rate. After a year as self-employed workers paying Social Security contributions of 50 euros, if they are within said ages, they can qualify for an additional 30% bonus in the 12 months following the end of the flat rate.

Flat rate for special groups

This is focused on people with disabilities of 33% or higher and victims of gender violence and terrorism. For the first 12 months, they will pay 50 euros per month if they use the minimum contribution base or they will have a reduction of 80% in the contribution if they contribute for the maximum. The subsequent 48 months will also have a bonus of 50% of the quota.
