Other measures will involve the elimination of a large part of the deductions and bonuses for hiring, and the recovery of forced retirements.
The president of the government has announced the implementation of several measures on labor matters that, although they were part of his electoral program, is the first time that he has mentioned them in public, such as those referring to the reduction of the types of labor contracts. . In this sense, the Government will not end the labor reform launched by the popular Executive of Mariano Rajoy, but it has announced that it will introduce several changes to that legislation: it will reduce the types of contracts to three and eliminate a large part of the bonuses and deductions. to hiring.
During his speech this Monday at the celebration of the Expansión anniversary that took place this Monday in Madrid, Sánchez stated that in the coming weeks his Government will approve a series of measures "to improve the labor market, especially to tackle the precariousness and current duality. Although these measures were part of his electoral program, it is the first time that he has mentioned them in public since he became President of the Government.
«We continue debating in the social dialogue with the aim of carrying out a drastic simplification of the number of contracts, leaving it essentially at three, one indefinite, one temporary and another for training or relief. We are also going to substantially reduce the number of bonuses and deductions for hiring, leaving only those that affect the most vulnerable and needy groups," said Sánchez during his speech at the gala, which took place in Madrid.
In addition, the Executive wants to "recover forced retirements based on age as an employment policy within the framework of collective agreements", as well as "establish the mandatory registration of work schedules to avoid abuses and facilitate the resolution of discrepancies."
Sánchez has cited these decisions among the series of measures that he includes in his "change agenda" and that he expects to become a reality in the coming months. Before an audience that included several ministers, he listed future decisions in various areas, including labor and with the aim of reducing precariousness.
It was then that he showed his determination to recover forced retirements based on age within the framework of collective agreements and establish a mandatory record of workers' hours. He has also cited in this context his intention to recover the value of collective bargaining and reinforce the causality of temporary hiring, as well as the Government's announced desire to reduce the number of hires.
Specifically, as Sánchez recalled, there would essentially be three types of contracts: one indefinite, one temporary and another for training or relief. In the same way, it has opted to substantially reduce the number of bonuses and deductions for hiring, leaving only those that affect the most vulnerable and needy groups.
Its "change agenda" also includes a shock plan for youth employment before the end of the year, placing emphasis on improving digital skills and foreign language skills.
