After approval by the Governing Council at the proposal of the Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment, the BORM published on October 11 the calendar of non-working days for labor purposes for the year 2018.

Specifically, it was agreed that next year's regional festivities will be on January 6, Epiphany of the Lord, on March 19, San José, on March 29, Holy Thursday, and on June 9, in commemoration of the promulgation of the Statute of Autonomy of the Region of Murcia. Likewise, it has been agreed to declare as recoverable on January 6, according to the criteria established by each company in accordance with their agreements.

Thus, the labor holidays throughout the territorial scope of the Region for 2018 will be, in addition to every Sunday, the following:

  • 1 of January New Year
  • January 6: Epiphany of the Lord
  • March 19: San Jose
  • March 29: Holy Thursday
  • March 30: Good Friday
  • May 1: Labor Party
  • June 9: Day of the Region of Murcia
  • August 15: Assumption of the Virgin
  • October 12: National Holiday of Spain
  • November 1: All Saints
  • December 6: Spanish Constitution Day
  • December 8: Immaculate Conception
  • December 25: Nativity of the Lord

To these dates must be added the two non-working days for labor purposes that each council has designated for its municipality.
