The Community programs 272 courses in May to train 3,071 unemployed and employed

175 courses for the unemployed and 97 for employed workers will be activated in practically all the municipalities of the Region

The Ministry of Employment, through the SEF, has programmed for this month of May a total of 272 free training courses for employment with 3,071 places available. This new offer will allow both the unemployed and the employed to improve their professional qualifications with a view to accessing the job market or obtaining a promotion in it.

Specifically, unemployed people can choose this month from among 175 training actions to acquire skills that will enable them to work in sectors with demand for professionals, such as hospitality and tourism, industry or energy efficiency, among others.

Employed workers will be able to update skills or reorient their professional career in other sectors with the 97 courses that will start this month. These include, for example, those referring to the management of new forms of communication, such as 'Creation of blogs and social networks' or 'Social media marketing and online reputation management'.

The general director of the SEF, Alejandro Zamora, highlighted that “the training of the SEF is adapted to the needs of the labor market, and allows the participants to increase their qualifications and boost their professional careers. In addition, it is important to underline that many of the courses are adapted to the profiles currently required by the specific municipalities in which these training actions are carried out”.

An example of this adaptation is that in Molina de Segura training actions are offered to work, for example, in the canning industry, through the 'Manufacture of vegetable preserves' course, or in the meat sector, with one of 'Butchery and preparation of meat products'. Successfully completing these courses also allows you to obtain a certificate of professionalism with which to prove the skills you have acquired during your training period.

Most of the courses offered for the employed will last between five and 150 hours, while the training period for the unemployed is longer and generally takes place over several months. In the latter case, most training actions lead to a professional certificate.

Registration through the training entity

Likewise, the SEF's offer includes computer and language training actions, both for the unemployed and the employed. This is the case of English courses that from level A1 to C1 allow you to improve your skills in this language, with the possibility of free access to an exam for the official certification of your level through an external test. This option is available through the 'Region of Murcia Speaks Languages' programme.

The period to enroll in any of these actions is still open, so those interested can consult all the course offerings available through the SEF website and contact directly the training entity that teaches the corresponding course. In addition to the training itself, the SEF also facilitates the attendance of the unemployed at these courses through a line of scholarships and specific aid.
