The minimum self-employed fee will increase by 8 euros per month from 2022
The minimum contribution base will be 960.60 euros and the rate will be 30.60%
The increase will affect more than 1.8 million workers
The contributions of self-employed workers will increase by 8 euros per month starting in 2022, according to the General State Budget bill for 2022, approved by the Council of Ministers.
The minimum contribution base will be 960.60 euros and the rate will be 30.60%, which will mean an increase of 96 euros per year.
The minimum fee to be paid will be 294 euros. The contribution increase will apply to more than 1.8 million self-employed workers who contribute on this basis. The increase in collection for Social Security will be about 173 million euros. The Budget bill also sets the maximum contribution base, which is 4,139.40 euros.
The Union of Professionals and Self-Employed Workers (UPTA) has criticized the Government's decision, which it considers "not correct", and recalls the promises to implement the new contribution system based on real income.
The entity also regrets that deductions for maintenance have not been included. "From our organization we do not understand the refusal, once again, not to include in this General Budget Law deductions for maintenance, which harm more than 1.2 million self-employed workers," says the UPTA before admitting that The public accounts do establish new tax criteria for companies, additional deductions to those already existing.
