The number of self-employed workers that the Ministry set as its goal for 2018 has exceeded the 98,000
The Region of Murcia is already above the annual target for self-employed workers established by the Ministry of Employment, Universities, Business and Environment. The Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF) set the figure of 97,900 self-employed workers as a reference to be reached by the end of 2018, starting from the 97,061 with which it ended December 2017. However, that mark has already been surpassed.
The rate of self-employed workers joining the Social Security system has exceeded expectations in the first four months of the year, which has led to 98,802 self-employed workers being registered at the end of April, that is, 902 more than the figure estimated for the entire year. Thus, in the first four months of 2018, 1,741 self-employed workers have been added, at a rate of 435 per month and 14 per day.
The increase in the total number of members of this group from January to April is therefore 1.79 percent, a figure that is above the average increase in the country as a whole, which has been 1.48 percent. For the Region of Murcia, this is the most intense increase in the last ten years in a first four-month period.
The Minister for Employment, Universities, Business and the Environment, Javier Celdrán, stressed that "it is essential to maintain these levels of growth in self-employment, because the self-employed are a priority group for this Government. Self-employed workers have been key players in the recovery and, in fact, the best way to strengthen the recovery is to strengthen the self-employed."
Up to 9,900 euros in aid for establishing yourself as a self-employed person.
The Employment Department, through the SEF, maintains two lines open to facilitate the establishment of self-employed persons. One of them is aid of between 3,000 and 9,900 euros to those unemployed persons who register as self-employed and prove that they have made investments in tangible fixed assets necessary for the development of the activity, for an amount not less than 2,500 euros.
In addition, the Zero Fee is also in force so that neither young people registered with the Youth Guarantee nor the long-term unemployed have to pay the self-employed rate in their first year of activity. Likewise, these people receive help to start their activity that ranges between 2,000 and 3,500 euros.
Specifically, for men it is 2,000 euros; if the beneficiary is a woman, the aid is 2,500 euros; and if she has a disability or is at risk of social exclusion, it rises to 3,500 euros.
