It is one of the demands that arise from the third edition of the study 'Spanish SMEs in the online field'

Taxes continue to be a barrier for the engine of Murcia's economy, SMEs. So much so that small and medium-sized companies in the region have a request for the new socialist Government: reduce the taxes (60%) they pay. In fact, Murcia businesses are the ones that lead this demand at the Spanish level and exceed the national average (53%). Regional SMEs also request that taxes be adjusted to their real profits. If in 2016 only one 31% of SMEs requested this change, in 2018 the figure rises to 51%, twenty points more. These are the main demands that arise from the third edition of the study 'Spanish SMEs in the online field'.

Businesses in the region lead the request to reduce the tax burden, reaching 60% of the total and exceeding the national average (53%).

In addition, the managers of small and medium-sized companies in the Region of Murcia ask Pedro Sánchez to eliminate the advance payment of VAT to the Treasury (21%) and facilitate access to credit (12%) to be able to finance their businesses with guarantees. The study also shows the demand of SMEs to reduce procedures when creating a company (16%), although it drops six points compared to 2016, the year in which the second Government of Mariano Rajoy took office.

Finally, every year there is an increase in Murcian SMEs that give more importance to training and today it is the 15% that ask the Government for more measures to train their workers, nine points more than in 2016. However, moving towards a tax market in Spain or facilitating internationalization is only relevant for the 7% of small and medium-sized companies.

At the national level, women also request more facilities to access unemployment and register and cancel in the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers (RETA).

Female demand: unemployment and registration in the RETA

Another of the demands made by the 16% of the Murcia businesses is to have more facilities to access unemployment and to register in the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers (RETA). At the national level, it is businesswomen who are most likely to ask for more facilities to access unemployment and RETA. Specifically, the 24% of female managers asks for more facilities and flexibility compared to the 17% of men.
