The Official State Gazette (BOE) last Saturday published the official work calendar for 2019. Next year there will be eight national holidays that will not be replaceable, which means that they will be celebrated throughout Spain. Along with these days, there will be four other holidays whose establishment corresponds to the power of each autonomous community. And, finally, each municipality will be able to choose two other holidays only for its location (holidays of the Region of Murcia, HERE)
In total, most workers will be able to enjoy 14 weekday holidays in 2019.
The eight days that cannot be substituted and must be celebrated throughout the national territory are:
January 1, New Year (Tuesday)
April 19, Good Friday
May 1, Labor Day (Wednesday)
August 15, Assumption of the Virgin (Thursday)
October 12, Columbus Day (Saturday)
November 1, All Saints' Day (Friday)
December 6, Constitution Day (Friday)
December 25, Christmas (Wednesday)
In addition, the other holidays chosen by a greater number of communities are January 6 (Three Kings' Day) and December 8 (Immaculata Day), which next year fall on a Sunday and are moved to Monday, January 7 and December 9. Likewise, April 18, Maundy Thursday is a holiday in all of Spain except Catalonia.
