The SEF offers aid of 3,907 euros for the indefinite hiring of a disabled person

Companies in the Region of Murcia that wish to hire people with disabilities can now request these profiles from the 25 Offices of the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF). The staff of these offices will identify in their database the candidates who best adapt to the established requirements and, depending on the company's preferences, will make this job offer public or refer the applicants internally.

The Department of Employment, through the SEF, makes available to companies an aid of 3,907 euros for the indefinite hiring of a full-time unemployed person with a disability. Thus, companies can request aid and at the same time require the SEF office to provide candidates for the position, or on the contrary, they can provide in advance the name of the worker they will hire.

The SEF employment technicians establish as a search criterion in their database that candidates have a disability equal to or greater than 33 percent, compatible with the professional practice demanded by the hiring company.
Companies with more than 50 workers must hire at least one person with a disability

The legislation establishes that companies with more than 50 workers must reserve a quota of 2 percent of positions for workers with disabilities. In addition to the aid of 3,907 euros, the company that hires an unemployed person with a disability has important discounts on Social Security contributions, and, where appropriate, deductions on corporate tax.

Another way to access professionals with disabilities is to turn to non-profit entities specialized in these groups, with which the Ministry has signed collaboration agreements on employment matters. Some of these entities are the National Association for Growth Problems (Crecer), the Association for People with Down Syndrome (Assido) or the Association of Families and People with Mental Illness (Afes Murcia).
