The Government and the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE) reached an agreement in principle this Wednesday to extend the Temporary Employment Regulation Files (ERTE) until September.

Social dialogue sources have assured that the "obstacles" that existed with the employers in the Social Security part for the extension of the files - specifically in the exemptions in the contributions of the workers - have been overcome, achieving Government, employers and unions unblock the negotiations at the meeting held this afternoon.

The new conditions will go to the extraordinary Council of Ministers scheduled for 4:30 p.m. this Thursday, the deadline, with the aim of approving the new extension, which would last until September 30.

This is how the exonerations remain after the agreement:

Within the three categories of ERTE, the agreement contemplates that in the case of impediments, which are covered by companies in any sector that cannot operate due to health restrictions, the exemptions would be maintained in 100% for companies with less of 50 workers and in 90% for those with more than 50.

Regarding the limitation ERTE, in which companies can open but with limitations, the planned exemptions will be 85% in June and July and 75% in August and September for companies with less than 50 workers. In the case of companies with more workers on staff, the exemptions will be 75% in June and July and 65% in August and September.

Finally, in the ERTE in the 'ultra-protected' sectors and companies in their value chain, where there were the greatest discrepancies between the Government and the social agents, the principle of agreement provides that the exemptions for activated workers are for four months. until September 30, the 95% in companies with less than 50 workers and the 85% for those with more staff.

Likewise, the exemptions for suspended workers will be 85% in the months of June, July and August and 70% in September for companies with less than 50 workers. In the case of companies with more than 50 employees, they will be 75% in the first three months and 60% in September.

The agreement, according to the small and medium-sized business employers' association, opens a new period until September 30, the date on which the capacity that companies have had to reincorporate workers can be determined and on which it must be considered the negotiation of the sanctions subject to the employment maintenance clause cannot be postponed in order to avoid business bankruptcies as much as possible due to the impossibility of adaptation, especially in SMEs.
