The new remuneration for this type of workers has retroactive effects as of September 1, 2021

Social Security has announced what the salary will be for domestic workers, according to the new Minimum Interprofessional Wage (SMI) announced and approved by the Government of Spain.

That is, this salary cannot be less than 1125.83 euros/month for people with a full-time employment contract. If the remuneration paid is greater than that amount, the total remuneration paid must be declared, increased with the proration of extraordinary payments. This is in addition to the obligation to declare the rest of the non-monetary remuneration (such as accommodation or maintenance, for example) that constitutes the household employee's salary.

With the entry into operation of Import@ss, the new TGSS portal, you can do it comfortably, at any time and very easily from any computer or mobile device with an internet connection. You can directly access the service that allows you to update this and other data on the working conditions related to the person who works at home at this link.

To do so, you must identify yourself via SMS, with a digital certificate or cl@ve. In this practical guide you will find all the information about these identification methods and how to obtain them if you do not yet have one of them.

If you do not have these means of electronic identification, you can complete Form TA.2/S-0138 for the Application for registration, cancellation or variation of data of the employed worker in the General Regime – Special System for domestic employees that can be download at this link and send it through the form enabled by the TGSS (which you can access here) attaching, in addition to the application form, a copy of your identity document. In the form you must select the category “Employer/Household Employee”.

If you have questions about how to proceed with this regulatory change, you can contact our offices, or through the Contact Form, and our experts will advise you.
