In the BOE of October 21, the Resolution of October 14, 2021, of the General Directorate of Labor, was published, which publishes the list of labor holidays for the year 2022 at the national level, of the Autonomous Community and of the Cities of Ceuta and Melilla. This facilitates knowledge throughout the national territory of all labor holidays.
Both are published:
- National holidays, paid and non-recoverable, not replaceable by the Autonomous Communities (CCAA)
- The holidays that the Autonomous Communities can choose to celebrate in their territory or replace them with others (that are their own by tradition).
Two will be elected by each city council.
Eight will be mandatory and not replaceable by the autonomous communities:
- 1 of January New Year),
- January 6 (Epiphany of the Lord),
- April 15 (Good Friday),
- August 15 (Assumption of the Virgin),
- October 12 (Spanish National Holiday),
- November 1 (All Saints Day),
- December 6 (Spanish Constitution Day)
- December 8 (Immaculate Conception).
Four substitutable national holidays that communities can choose as holidays or change them for other days of celebration: April 14 (Holy Thursday), May 2 (Monday following the Labor Day), July 25 (Monday following of Santiago Apóstol) and December 26 (Monday after Christmas).
